Abstract
Automated external def brillators (AEDs) used in the critical f rst minutes after cardiac arrest can ensure a victim's best chance for survival. However, emergency medical responders often are delayed past the window when early def brillation is most ef ective. Training programs for physicians and laypersons on how to use AEDs in public venues can result in saving precious time.
