Abstract

A 12-year-old boy presented with isolated noncompaction of the ventricular myocardium (INVM), a rare cardiomyopathy of childhood. Echocardiography revealed spongy myocardium with deep intratrabecular recesses at the left ventricular apex. Gated blood-pool scintigraphy revealed an akinetic lateral wall and apex with a normal ejection fraction.
