Resumen
Anesthesia for pediatric patients begins with a complete history and physical examination, and a review of family history and the patient’s medical chart. Since most surgeries performed in the pediatric population are planned, preoperative preparation is essential. Some of the more common pediatric surgeries include strabismus correction, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, pyloromyotomy, appendectomy, circumcision, and hernia repair. This chapter will review the anesthetic management of the aforementioned surgeries.
