Resumen
The similarities between normal or close to normal speech abilities in quiet but not in noise in some children with auditory neuropathyldyssynchrony and children with (central) auditory processing disorders can make differential diagnosis a challenge for these children. A compre hensive test battery, including tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions, and auditory brainstem response will however allow to determine the appropriate diagnosis and management.
