Resumen
Hip pathology is common in the female athlete. A range of conditions are seen, ranging from mild muscular strains to more serious tendon or labral tears. This chapter will focus on the most common causes of hip pain in the female athlete, including femoroacetabular impingement, acetabular dysplasia, labral tears, snapping psoas and tendonitis, iliotibial band snapping, trochanteric bursitis, osteoarthritis, and femoral torsion abnormalities. We will discuss diagnostic tools on physical examination and imaging and discuss treatment options.
